Part of a protected marine reserve, Garajau Beach is world-famous for its crystal-clear waters and rich biodiversity. Nestled at the foot of a massive cliff, it is a haven for scuba divers and snorkelers. The beach is accessible via a thrilling cable car ride from the Cristo Rei statue.

How to Get There
Located at the Ponta do Garajau in Caniço. Park at the Cristo Rei statue and take the cable car down to the beach.

Important to Know
- Marine Reserve: This was the first marine reserve in Portugal. Fishing is strictly prohibited.
- Diving: There is a professional diving center right on the beach.
- Cable Car: The “Teleférico do Garajau” is the easiest way to reach the beach and offers incredible views during the descent.
