Gorgulho Beach, also known as Gavinas Beach, is a small, unmonitored pebble beach located in the popular Lido area. It is a perfect spot for a spontaneous swim, surrounded by the modern infrastructure of Funchal’s main hotel zone and a wide variety of restaurants.

  • Urban Swim: Being in the hotel district, it is surrounded by cafes and shops, making it very convenient for a quick break.
  • No Lifeguard: This beach is generally unsupervised, so be cautious with the waves.
  • Gavinas: Locals often call it “Praia das Gavinas” (Seagulls Beach).
