Gorgulho Beach, also known as Gavinas Beach, is a small, unmonitored pebble beach located in the popular Lido area. It is a perfect spot for a spontaneous swim, surrounded by the modern infrastructure of Funchal’s main hotel zone and a wide variety of restaurants.

How to Get There
Located in the western part of Funchal along the “Estrada Monumental.” Follow the stairs down to the ocean near the Lido swimming complex.

Important to Know
- Urban Swim: Being in the hotel district, it is surrounded by cafes and shops, making it very convenient for a quick break.
- No Lifeguard: This beach is generally unsupervised, so be cautious with the waves.
- Gavinas: Locals often call it “Praia das Gavinas” (Seagulls Beach).
