Prainha is a small, natural coppery sand beach of volcanic origin, set within a stark, arid landscape. Located near the eastern tip of the island, it offers a “desert-island” feel with warm, clear waters and a rugged atmosphere.

How to Get There
Drive past Caniçal towards Ponta de São Lourenço. Look for the sign “Prainha” on the right side of the road before reaching the end of the peninsula.

- Arid Beauty: Unlike the green north, this area is brown and volcanic, resembling a lunar landscape.
- Dunes: It is the only place on the island with fossilized sand dunes nearby.
