At an altitude of 600 metres, the Curral dos Romeiros Viewpoint offers an unobstructed view over the Atlantic and key points of interest such as Cabo Girão. It is located in a high mountain area above Monte, providing a dramatic perspective of the city’s scale and its rugged mountainous backdrop.

How to Get There
Located high above the Monte district. Follow the signs from Monte towards Curral dos Romeiros and Babosas. The road is very steep and typical of Funchal’s upper suburbs.

- Altitude: This is one of the highest viewpoints in the immediate Funchal area, often sitting right at the cloud line.
- Cabo Girão View: On a clear day, the view stretches all the way to the famous sea cliff in the west.
- Rural Feel: Despite being close to the city, the area has a very quiet, mountain village atmosphere.
