Located high above the Monte district. Follow the signs from Monte towards Curral dos Romeiros and Babosas. The road is very steep and typical of Funchal’s upper suburbs.

Important to Know

  • Altitude: This is one of the highest viewpoints in the immediate Funchal area, often sitting right at the cloud line.
  • Cabo Girão View: On a clear day, the view stretches all the way to the famous sea cliff in the west.
  • Rural Feel: Despite being close to the city, the area has a very quiet, mountain village atmosphere.
