Several Ryanair flights were affected overnight at Madeira International Airport – Cristiano Ronaldo, with some services diverted and others sent back to their departure points. The 01:45 flight returned to base, while the 01:15 flight from Dublin was diverted to Porto. In another disruption, the 08:25 flight departing from Lisbon returned to Humberto Delgado Airport. The available information does not include an official confirmation of the cause of the changes. However, the circumstances strongly suggest that adverse weather conditions played a role. Reduced visibility is also indicated as a likely factor affecting airport operations. Samantha Gannon reported the incident on 5th May 2026 10:55 am.
