Porto Santo Line Booking System Disrupted After IBM Data Centre Fire

Porto Santo Line’s reservation system is currently down following a fire at IBM’s data centre in the Netherlands. The incident took place in Almere, near Amsterdam, and has affected several international companies that use the same tech services. Among those impacted are maritime operators such as Virtu Ferries, Condor Ferries, and Herjólfur, as well as other organisations and services connected to IBM Cloud. Despite the disruption, Porto Santo Line says its operation remains assured. Ticket sales are still being handled in person at the counters and maritime terminals of Funchal and Porto Santo for same-day and next-day trips. The company says it is working with the firm responsible for the booking software and expects the service to return soon. Porto Santo Line also thanked passengers for their understanding.
