Located at the mouth of the Ribeira de São Jorge, this viewpoint allows you to observe the imposing mountains that surround the parish of São Jorge. It offers a spectacular view of the rugged northern coastline and the historic ruins of the old port near the river mouth.

Access: Accessible by car via the road descending to the coast.

How to Get There
From the village center of São Jorge, follow the road descending toward the sea (signs for “Calhau” or “Foz da Ribeira”). The viewpoint is located on the slopes overlooking the lower valley.

Important to Know
- Note: Not to be confused with the Miradouro do Pico in Porto Moniz; this one offers a view of the northeastern cliffs.
- Coastal History: From here, you can see the ruins of the old São Jorge bridge and the landing site used before modern roads existed.
- River Meeting: This is the best spot to see the Ribeira de São Jorge river meeting the powerful Atlantic waves.
