Briefly
With free access and integrated into the picturesque village of Porto Moniz, these natural pools offer a more “wild” and authentic experience. Unlike the main complex, they have been left largely in their natural state, providing a raw connection with the volcanic basalt formations and the sea.

Important to know:

  • Free Access: There is no entrance fee and no lifeguards on duty. Use them at your own risk and only when the sea is calm.

  • Pure Nature: The floors are original lava rock; water shoes are highly recommended to avoid slipping or sharp edges.

  • The View: From here, you have an incredible view of the Ilhéu Mole (the islet with the lighthouse) just offshore.
