The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) has issued a yellow weather warning for Madeira and Porto Santo. The alert will be in force from 03:00 to 21:00 on the 5th of May (Tuesday). Forecasts indicate periods of persistent rain that may become heavy at times. The strongest rainfall is expected in mountainous regions, while the south and north coasts of the island, as well as Porto Santo Island, are also set to see cloudy skies and precipitation. Civil Protection has advised drivers to be especially careful when travelling through exposed or vulnerable areas. The warning highlights the need for caution as weather conditions are expected to affect the islands throughout the day.
