Tourism in Madeira in 2025: 12.7 million overnight stays and €887 million in revenue
Madeira continues to strengthen its position as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Europe.
The results for 2025 speak for themselves:
12.7 million overnight stays
+8.3% compared to 2024
€887.1 million in revenue in the tourist accommodation sector
+16.6% revenue growth
Another important indicator is the strong growth of the local accommodation segment / Alojamento Local, where the number of overnight stays increased by approximately 18.7%.
What I find especially interesting is that tourism revenue is growing faster than the number of overnight stays itself.
This means that Madeira is not just welcoming more tourists. The economic value of the tourist flow itself is also increasing.
For a relatively small island, these are very strong figures and yet another confirmation that Madeira continues to attract stable international demand.
Tourism here has long since gone beyond simple seasonality. It is one of the key and increasingly mature sectors of the island’s economy.
And naturally, all of this has a direct impact on the real estate market as well.
