A South Korean national was unhurt on Wednesday afternoon after the rental car he was driving left the road and overturned near Lagoa do Fanal, on the Ribeira da Janela–Fanal route. According to information gathered by DIÁRIO, the crash happened when the vehicle veered off the roadway. Early indications point to the driver possibly falling asleep at the wheel. Although the car suffered extensive damage, the man did not need medical assistance. Firefighters were also not called to the scene. Several passers-by stopped to help, including members of the Nature Rangers, who were among the first to assist the driver.
