Madeira is currently being affected by a mass of hot and humid air carried by the circulation of a depression located to the west of the archipelago. According to Ricardo Tavares, the IPMA delegate in Madeira, this has already led to low clouds, reduced visibility, and light precipitation across the region. He said the atmospheric situation is expected to deteriorate over the next couple of days. An orange alert has been issued for Thursday because of persistent and heavy rain, which may also bring thunderstorms throughout the day. Ricardo Tavares also warned that Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport may face possible constraints over the next couple of days due to heavy precipitation, low clouds, and reduced visibility. He added that operations tomorrow could be affected, while stronger wind from the 8th may cause occasional disturbances.
