An imported yellow sand beach with an extension of 100 metres, located in the sunniest part of the island. Calheta features two man-made golden sand lagoons protected by massive breakwaters, making it a premier destination for sun-seekers and families.

Access: Fully accessible from the Calheta promenade.

Parking: Large paid parking area at the marina
Best season: All year round (Sunniest spot on Madeira).
How to Get There
Located in front of the Calheta Marina. Drive to the lower part of the village following signs for “Praia” or “Porto de Recreio.”

- Artificial Lagoons: The calm water is perfect for swimming, even when the rest of the ocean is rough.
- Marina: Located right next to the marina, where you can book whale-watching or fishing tours.
- Shopping: There is a supermarket and several restaurants within 2 minutes of the sand.
