An imported yellow sand beach with an extension of 100 metres, located in the sunniest part of the island. Calheta features two man-made golden sand lagoons protected by massive breakwaters, making it a premier destination for sun-seekers and families.

How to Get There
Located in front of the Calheta Marina. Drive to the lower part of the village following signs for “Praia” or “Porto de Recreio.”

- Artificial Lagoons: The calm water is perfect for swimming, even when the rest of the ocean is rough.
- Marina: Located right next to the marina, where you can book whale-watching or fishing tours.
