One of the highest sea cliffs in Europe, towering 580 meters above the Atlantic Ocean. It is world-famous for its glass skywalk platform, offering a heart-racing “vertical” view of the waves and the small cultivated terraces (fajãs) at the base of the cliff.

How to Get There
Located near the town of Câmara de Lobos. Follow the signs from the VR1 highway marked “Cabo Girão.” The road leads directly to the tourist complex and the skywalk.
Important to Know
- The Skywalk: The glass floor can be intimidating, but it is made of multi-layered transparent steel-reinforced glass and is extremely safe.
- Fajãs do Cabo Girão: Look straight down to see the tiny plots of land where locals grow vines and vegetables, accessible only by boat or a private cable car.
- Entrance Fee: Since 2023, there is a small entrance fee (approx. €2.00) for non-residents. Use the ticket machines at the entrance.
- Facilities: There are toilets, a café, and several souvenir shops at the site.
