A stunning view sells the emotion of a purchase. It does not sell the property back to the next buyer any faster. When I evaluate a property for an investor, I set the view aside first and ask a different question: who else will want this, and how many of them are there?

A Low Price Is Not a Strategy Either

Buyers often treat a low asking price as the safest option. It isn’t. A price that sits well below the market for its area or type is a signal to look closer, not a reason to move faster. Sometimes it points to a legal issue with the title, a structural problem, or a location with a much smaller pool of future buyers than it appears to have.

Big Discounts Deserve a Closer Look, Not Excitement

The same goes for a large discount off the original asking price. A 30–40% markdown feels like an opportunity. Often it’s the seller signaling that something about the property, the building, or the timeline isn’t working — and it’s worth understanding why before the number gets you excited.
