Pico do Facho | Viewpoint | Machico
Briefly
The Pico do Facho Viewpoint overlooks the Machico valley, the peaks of the central part of the island, and the long Ponta de São Louренço peninsula. Historically, it was a site for lighting signal fires (beacons) to warn the island of approaching pirate ships.

Located on the hill above Machico. Follow the signs from the town center or the VE1 highway marked “Pico do Facho.”
