All classified walking routes in the Region will be closed tomorrow, the 5th of May, because of bad weather. The restrictions will stay in force for as long as the weather alerts remain active. The Forest Road that connects Eira do Serrado to Pico do Areeiro will also be shut during this period. The Institute warned that anyone found walking on these routes could face fines of up to 2,500 euros. It also asked people to remain alert after the routes reopen, especially if they notice falling stones or tree branches. Any such anomalous situations should be reported to the competent authorities.
