The Judiciary Police carried out an inspection this morning on a recreational boat docked at the Calheta marina. The vessel was the Spanish-flagged yacht ‘Bluemoona,’ which had departed from the island of Saint-Martin, in the Caribbean, on the 14th of May. It arrived in Madeira today, at 07:00, before the operation took place. Contacted by DIÁRIO, the director of the Judiciary Police of Madeira, José Matos, confirmed that the action followed a complaint raising suspicions of drug trafficking. He did not provide details about the investigation or the complaint itself. José Matos said that after the steps taken, “nothing was confirmed.” The case remains without any confirmed evidence of illegal activity.
