**the “SOS Recovery” treatment

**

Is your hair feeling dry, weak or tired after colouring, sun, saltwater or Madeira’s humid Atlantic climate?

At Elizabeth Hair Madeira, the SOS Recovery treatment helps bring back softness, shine and a healthier hair feel through deep in-salon reconstruction with Viart professional products.

This treatment is ideal for dry, damaged or over-processed hair after colouring, blonde work, balayage, sun exposure or saltwater.

My approach is always the same:
healthy hair • gentle care • premium professional products

To maintain the result at home, I recommend thermal protection and the Elastic leave-in mask, both available at the studio.

why i choose Viart ?

Let’s talk about Viart — a brand created by a passionate colorist who truly understands hair.
I’ve been using Viart home-care products for more than two years, and today I confidently recommend them to my clients.

What makes Viart special?
The formulas are clean, balanced and lightweight — without heavy silicones or ingredients that build up on the hair.
The products keep the hair smooth, shiny and healthy without masking the problems.

And why are heavy silicones not the best choice for your hair?
I’ll be happy to explain during your appointment — believe me, it’s much more interesting than it sounds. :sparkles:

Viart is a brand I trust both as a professional and as a person who loves healthy, beautiful hair.

Hair care myths you should stop believing

Myth #1

Trim your ends more often and your hair will grow faster

Hair grows from the roots. Trimming affects only the quality of your length.

Myth #2

Wash your hair less and it will stop getting oily

Sebaceous gland activity doesn’t change with less frequent washing.

Myth #3

Hair oils can truly repair damaged hair

Oils improve softness, shine, and protection, but they don’t rebuild damaged hair structure.

Myth #4

Air-drying is always better than blow-drying

Wet hair is more fragile. Gentle blow-drying with heat protection is often the safer option.

Myth #5

Never brush wet hair

With the right tools and leave-in products, gentle detangling is safe.

Myth #6

Frizz means you should straighten more often

Flat irons don’t fix frizz — they cause dryness and breakage.

Healthy hair is a system, not a quick fix

Save this post — your hair will thank you :white_heart:

Healthy hair is always my priority.

Before choosing any technique — balayage airtouch , tinting or highlights — I first look at the condition of your hair.
Because beautiful color means nothing if the hair becomes dry, dull or fragile.

I always:
• choose gentle formulas
• use protection and reconstruction during coloring
• aim for natural, soft and long-lasting results

I don’t believe in “quick magic transformations” that damage the hair.
I believe in healthy shine, smooth texture and color that grows out beautifully.

Your hair should look amazing not only today — but every day after.

Color-treated hair: not damaged enough to panic, but not healthy enough to ignore

This is another very common category.

Hair that has been colored but does not look obviously damaged.

At first glance, it may seem perfectly fine.

But this is often where hidden issues begin:

  • increased porosity
  • loss of shine
  • surface frizz
  • rough texture
  • reduced softness

In these cases, the goal is not aggressive repair.

It’s intelligent maintenance.

That usually means combining:

  • lightweight hydration
  • smoothing care
  • anti-frizz support
  • shine enhancement without product buildup

Why product recommendations from friends often fail

We’ve all done it.

A friend says:

“This mask completely changed my hair.”

So we buy it.

But unless you have the same:

  • hair density
  • porosity
  • scalp type
  • chemical history
  • styling habits
  • texture

…the result may be completely different.

Haircare is not one-size-fits-all.

The biggest mistake: treating symptoms instead of understanding the cause

Frizz does not always mean dryness.

Oiliness does not always mean you need stronger cleansing.

Lack of shine does not always mean you need more oil.

What looks like the same problem can come from completely different causes.

That is why personalised haircare almost always works better than trend-based shopping.

Final thought

Beautiful hair does not come from buying more products.

It comes from choosing the right ones.

And sometimes, the smallest adjustment in your home routine can make a bigger difference than any salon treatment.

If you are unsure what your hair actually needs, feel free to send me a photo — I’m always happy to offer professional guidance.

Hair extensions are not about length

Most people still think that hair extensions are only for those who dream of having waist-length hair.

But over the years, I’ve noticed one interesting thing.

In reality, women rarely come just for length.

Behind the desire to have longer hair, there is almost always something more.

The desire to feel more confident.

To feel beautiful.

To see in the mirror that version of yourself that you truly like again.

Very often, women come not because they want waist-length hair.

They want to bring back thickness.

That very fullness that makes a ponytail look more voluminous, a hairstyle more beautiful, and the reflection in the mirror more harmonious.

Some women spend years trying to grow fuller ends, but their hair remains thin.

Some have lost density after pregnancy, stress, hormonal changes, or multiple colour treatments.

And some simply want to feel confident again, without thinking every day about whether their hair has enough volume.

Very often, a little more thickness or a little more length changes much more than just the hairstyle.

It changes the way you feel about yourself.

Some of the most common phrases I hear after the procedure are not:

“I like the length.”

Much more often, I hear:

“I can’t stop touching my hair.”

Or:

“I keep looking at myself in the mirror.”

And this has nothing to do with vanity.

When we like our reflection, we begin to feel different.

We become more confident.

We smile more often.

We stop focusing on what we feel is missing.

Good hair extensions should not be obvious.

In my opinion, the perfect hair extension is the one no one can recognise.

People should not think about capsules, donor hair, or the procedure itself.

They should simply see beautiful hair.

That is why it is so important to choose the right hair texture, the right technique, and the right capsule size.

Unfortunately, most negative stories about hair extensions are not connected to the procedure itself, but to poor-quality work.

Capsules that are too large.

Hair texture that does not match.

Too much weight for the natural hair.

Visible attachment points.

But all of this does not speak badly about hair extensions.

It speaks about the work being done incorrectly.

There is also another common myth: that hair extensions do not require care.

In reality, it is the opposite.

Hair extensions are an investment in beauty, and beautiful hair requires attention.

Just like natural hair, extensions need masks, serums, heat protection, and regular care.

And perhaps the most common fear is:

“What if I lose my own hair?”

When extensions are done correctly, the hair is chosen properly, and maintenance appointments are done on time, the procedure itself does not automatically lead to the loss of your natural hair.

Problems usually appear when the hair is overloaded with too much weight, the capsules are chosen incorrectly, or aftercare recommendations are ignored.

Modern hair extensions are not about creating something unnatural.

They are not about extreme length or a “wow” effect at any cost.

They are about enhancing what is already there.

A little more thickness.

A little more length.

A little more self-confidence.

And sometimes, that small change is exactly enough for a woman to feel like herself again.

Sometimes a visit to a hair stylist is about so much more than just hair color :sparkles:

I’ve always wanted my clients to come to me not only for beautiful color or healthy hair.

But also for a moment to slow down.
To take a break.
To step away from work, noise, and the constant rush of everyday life.

That’s why the atmosphere is so important to me.

Soft music, a cozy space, attention to every little detail, a cup of tea, coffee, or even a glass of wine during your appointment — all of these little things create that feeling of self-care we so often forget to give ourselves.

Especially here in Madeira, where life feels meant to be lived a little slower, a little softer, and a little more beautifully. :herb:

I love it when a few hours in my chair become a little reset for my clients — a chance to breathe, relax, and simply enjoy time for themselves.

And of course, they leave with beautiful, healthy hair as a lovely bonus. :white_heart:

Sometimes, those few hours of taking care of yourself are exactly what you need the most.
