The Madeira Citizen’s Shop will soon host a new Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Security and Maritime Services (DGRM) service desk. This change follows a cooperation protocol signed by the Regional Secretariat for Finance, through the Agency for Innovation and Modernisation of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, and the DGRM. The agreement covers the installation and operation of the service point, creating a single place where citizens and companies can handle maritime administration matters. It will also provide support for maritime safety, certification and registration of vessels, and licensing of maritime activities. In addition, the desk will deal with the management of marine natural resources, fishing and aquaculture. The protocol was signed by Vice-Admiral António Coelho Cândido, as Director-General of the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Security and Maritime Services, and by Hélder Pestana, president of the Agency for Innovation and Modernization of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. According to the protocol, the new counter is intended to support administrative modernisation and bring public services closer to citizens by concentrating them in the Citizen’s Shop of Madeira.
