The Precipice Viewpoint (Miradouro do Precipício) is located at the top of an imposing cliff, offering a breathtaking and dizzying vertical view over the village of Paul do Mar. It showcases the “zig-zag” road that descends the cliff and the raw power of the Atlantic hitting the southwestern shore.

How to Get There
Located near the Hotel Jardim Atlântico in Fajã da Ovelha. Follow signs for Paul do Mar/Precipício. The viewpoint is a small balcony right above the descent.

Important to Know
- Vertigo Warning: The name is literal — the cliff is nearly vertical. It is safe and fenced, but very high.
- PR 19 Trail: This viewpoint is close to the start of the famous PR 19 — Caminho Real do Paul do Mar hiking trail.
- Road Views: One of the best places to photograph the engineering marvel of the mountain roads.
