A short, easy loop trail located in a beautiful forest park near Encumeada. It is an ideal introduction to the Laurissilva forest, featuring a flat path through groves of Canary Laurel trees. This trail is perfect for families, casual walkers, or those looking for a peaceful spot for a picnic in the heart of nature.

How to Get There
The park is located on the road between Encumeada and São Vicente (ER 228). Follow the signs for “Parque Florestal do Chão dos Louros.”

Important: This is one of the best spots on the island for a BBQ or picnic, as the park is equipped with stone grills and tables.

- The Forest: The name “Chão dos Louros” means “Ground of the Laurels.” You will see many endemic Laurus azorica trees.
