PR1 Vereda do Areeiro is a 7 km moderate trail connecting Madeira’s highest peaks: Pico do Areeiro, Pico das Torres, and Pico Ruivo. It features volcanic tunnels, steep slopes, and unique high-altitude heath with endemic bird species, ending at the Casa de Abrigo do Pico Ruivo shelter.
