A 25-year-old French tourist who had been missing since Sunday in a mountain area between Três Paus à Viana and Curral das Freiras has been found. The search effort started yesterday with the Volunteer Firefighters of Funchal, supported by the Volunteer Firefighters of Câmara de Lobos. Bad weather forced the operation to be suspended at 03:00. Teams returned to the area at 07:00 this morning to continue the rescue. The renewed search involved eight elements of the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters. The man was safely rescued after the operation resumed.
