The Legislative Assembly of Madeira’s 5th Commission for Health and Civil Protection, chaired by Joana Silva (PSD), has continued reviewing the regional ordinance that regulates the prescription of physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatments. The proposed amendments would limit the prescription of certain Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation treatments to specialists in that field. This change is intended to adjust who can authorize these treatments under the regional rules. The commission’s work is part of the ongoing legislative process on the matter. The proposal remains under examination and has not yet reached a final decision.
