ESTEPILHA was founded by Hugo Abreu. The project started at home in 2020. The first sauces reached the public in 2022. The brand was officially registered in 2023 — the first artisanal hot sauce brand on Madeira Island.
Chillies come from Madeira. Some are grown by the founder. Others come from local producers. Some sauces are fermented for months to build depth and balance. Every batch is small.
