Ruins: Right next to the pools, you can see the ruins of the old São Jorge port and its historic arch.
Fresh Water: The freshwater lagoon from the river is a great alternative if you want a break from the salt.
Atmosphere: It is one of the most secluded bathing spots on the north coast, often with fewer tourists than Funchal or Porto Moniz.
